Privacy Policy
Octave Tuner privacy policy
Octave Tuner is designed to work on your device. We do not sell your data, run ads, or send your audio recordings to our servers.
Information we use
Octave Tuner uses limited information to provide tuning features:
- Microphone input: live audio is analysed on device to detect pitch and tuning accuracy.
- Support requests: if you use our contact form, we collect the information you submit, such as your name, email address, and support message.
- App settings: preferences such as reference pitch, appearance, and accessibility settings may be stored on your device.
- User-created tuning data: custom tunings, instrument profiles, and related app data are stored locally on your device.
- Purchases: Octave Pro purchases and restores are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details.
We do not require account creation, and Octave Tuner does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or precise location data.
Microphone access
Octave Tuner requests microphone permission so it can listen to your instrument and calculate pitch in real time.
Audio is processed on device for tuning functionality. Octave Tuner does not store microphone recordings, and it does not upload microphone audio to a remote server.
Local storage
Settings and user-created tuning data are stored locally on your device so the app can remember your preferences and custom setups between sessions.
At this time, Octave Tuner does not use cloud sync or remote databases.
Support form submissions are stored in our Cloudflare-hosted support database so we can review and respond to incoming requests.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
Octave Tuner does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or social tracking tools.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple as part of the App Store purchase flow.
Support form submissions are processed by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, as part of operating the support website. This website is hosted on Vercel, which may process standard server request information as part of delivering the site.
Your choices
- You can deny microphone access, but live tuning features will not work without it.
- You can remove app data by deleting the app from your device.
- You can manage microphone permissions in the iOS Settings app at any time.
Children’s privacy
Octave Tuner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
